Dubai - Roger Federer won his first title this year. Former world number one emerged as the champion in the Dubai Tennis Championships after defeating Tomas Berdych in the final.
Federer had to play almost two hours against Berdych at the Aviation Club Tennis Centre on Saturday (03/01/2014) night local time. He eventually won the duel through all three sets with scores of 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.
This victory is a kind of party revenge for Federer. Last year, he was beaten by Berdych in the same tournament.
Until now, Federer has collected six titles in Dubai. The Swiss before becoming champion in 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, and 2012. For him this is the 78th title in his professional career.
